Artist manager Roy Amar joins Open Door Management
Chris O’Brien and Josh Smith’s Open Door Management has expanded its roster with the addition of Roy Amar, founder and CEO of Melbourne-based Bear Parts Music.
He brings with him his bands Circles, Drown This City and Creo who join a roster which includes Northlane, Make Them Suffer, Void Of Vision, Windwaker and Introvert.
“I am over the moon to be joining the Open Door Management family and thrilled to be working with legends Chris O’Brien and Joshua Smith,” Amar said.
“They are both so highly regarded in this industry and I can’t wait to learn everything I can from two such professional and talented people.
“This means a lot to me, it’s been a dream of mine to be part of a team within the music industry.
“Everyone who knows me will be aware of just how passionate I am about my artists and how I will go to great lengths to take care of them, not only as musicians, but as friends.
“I’m excited for my artists as this is an incredible opportunity for them also as joining Open Door Management will give myself and my artists new opportunities, guidance and a bigger family.”
O’Brien and Smith added in a joint statement that they have “admired the passion and dedication” that Amar has displayed for his artists over the years.
“We cannot wait to start working with him and helping guide Circles, Drown This City and Creo in the next phases of their careers globally,” they said.
“We understand when artists come out of this new environment we are all faced with they will need as much expertise and passion as possible.
“We are proud Roy has put his faith in us and look forward to the next chapter.”
O’Brien, and Northlane Guitarist Smith, launched Open Door Management last July.
