Rosie Beaton departs Amazon Music Australia after seven months
Rosie Beaton has departed her role as senior music curator for Amazon Music Australia & NZ.
Her role, which she took over in August 2018, involved “talking to global programming and tech teams, meeting with record labels and artists, content planning, listening to a lot of new music and so much more,” she tells TMN.
“I was passionate about championing Australian and NZ music to a new audience, it is in my DNA.”
Talking about the climate at Amazon Music to work in, Beaton says, “I loved working with a global team of very smart, driven individuals.
“Everyday was different and working in music always makes me happy.”
She remains presenter of the Billboard program for Qantas in-flight entertainment, a role she’s had for ten years.
She adds, “I have a podcast idea I have been banging on about for a while, maybe I’ll make it happen.”
During her years at triple j, Beaton helmed Super Request, one of the station’s highest-rating programs.
She was instrumental in championing emerging Aussie artists as the host of Unearthed when the station launched its current online model.
