Rolling Stone Australia announces performers and hosts of awards ceremony
Tash Sultana and Mia Rodriguez have been announced as the performers for this year’s Rolling Stone Australia Awards.
Taking place on March 31 at an invite-only ceremony in Sydney, the awards will be hosted by Nova Adelaide’s Breakfast duo Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton, well-known for their earlier work on triple j.
The news comes as Sultana releases their latest studio album, Terra Firma, through Lonely Lands Records/Sony Music Entertainment Australia.
Artists up for awards this year include Gordi, DMA’S, Tame Impala, Spacey Jane, Washington, The Kid LAROI, Tones and I and Tkay Maidza. While most award winners will be selected in-house, the recipient of the Rolling Stone Reader’s Award will be determined by the magazine’s subscribers.
The revival of the Rolling Stone Australia Awards were first announced in November, following the return of the magazine the same year.
“2020 will undoubtedly go down as one of the most trying, tumultuous years for music. But while our local music industry is crippled by a global pandemic, it has not stopped local artists from releasing remarkable music,” The Brag Media’s managing editor Poppy Reid said at the time.
“To be able to celebrate that music in partnership with Sailor Jerry, our global Rolling Stone team, and our subscribers is very exciting.”
