Tame Impala, Tash Sultana & Lime Cordiale lead Rolling Stone Australia Awards nominations

The Sailor Jerry Rolling Stone Australia Awards have announced the nominees for their 2021 ceremony, taking place in March.

Awards will be handed out for Best Record, Best Single, Best New Artist, the Rolling Stone Global Award and the Reader’s Award. Among the five categories announced today, Tame Impala is in the running for three of them thanks to the 2020 album, The Slow Rush. Other artists nominated in more than one category include E^ST, Tash Sultana, The Kid LAROI, Sia, Tkay Maidza and Lime Cordiale.

Nominees in the Reader’s Award category include Ball Park Music, Washington, The Chats and Lime Cordiale. The winner of this award will be determined by the magazine’s subscribers, with voting opening soon. The Global Award will be judged by Rolling Stone staff members across the world.

“While 2020 will be remembered as the year that tipped the music industry on its axis, the music that has been released is nothing short of astonishing,” Rolling Stone Australia managing editor Poppy Reid said in a statement.

“I believe the incredible breadth of Australia’s music talent is reflected in these nominees and I’m so looking forward to celebrating each and every one of them at the Rolling Stone Australia Awards in March.”
