Hit Network’s RnB Fridays is coming to MTV Dance
The Hit Network has partnered with MTV to bring their hugely successful RnB Fridays to television screens.
MTV Dance will air non-stop RnB music videos from 8am to midnight (AEDT) starting Friday March 31, featuring some of the best RnB anthems from the early 90s blended with the hits of today.
“We love that so many Australians have embraced RnB Fridays – turning up Blackstreet’s No Diggity and Ginuwine’s Pony is a must for all in the Hit office,” said Gemma Fordham, Head of Content at The Hit Network.
“RnB Fridays has become a phenomenon for us and we are really thrilled to welcome MTV into the RnB Fridays family.”
The sixteen-hour weekly co-branded programming block will be accessible through multi-platform, cross-company promotions, on-air, online and through social platforms.
Fridays have quickly become the most listened-to day on air across the Hit Network’s 43 stations nationwide. The partnership will serve to take the existing cult fixation and bring it to life with music videos.
“RnB Fridays has been a massive success since it hit the airwaves in 2015 and Australia just can’t get enough of it,” said Simon Bates, Vice President, Head of MTV Asia Pacific.
“We are super excited to partner with Southern Cross Austereo and their Hit Network to bring this music phenomenon to MTV Dance every Friday,” he added.
This morning, Grammy nominated artist & label owner Mario hosted a Facebook event to announce the partnership and will launch the initiative next Friday by spinning his new tracks Let Me Love You and How Do I Breathe, along with his favourite RnB tracks.
Thebrand is also becoming a weekly live event at Sydney’s Ivy, with US R&B singer Mya is launching it on March 31.
