Report: Australian promoters, artists, venues, make their mark during Q3 2018
Australian promoters, artists and venues continued to sell tickets during the third quarter of 2018 – to such an extent that some of them proved to be among the global best performers.
Frontier Touring and Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium were in the Top 10 in their respective categories.
This is remarkable given the new competition from rising new concert markets.
The list was compiled by US-based international live sector trade publication Pollstar.

Ed Sheeran continued to blitz all comers, remaining at the top of the Tours list by shifting 4.3 million through 2018 and grossing $383.2 million.
Since kicking off in 2017, Sheeran’s world tour has brought in half a billion dollars.
After winding up in North America next month, he is set in 2019 to play South Africa and then a final European run which begins in France on May 24 and ends in the UK on August 25.
Taylor Swift is at #2 on Pollstar’s 3Q ranking. She makes her mark with 2.4 million sold tickets and a combined gross of $289.2 million from 44 sellouts at 29 stadiums on her Reputation tour.
Pollstar expects her to have shifted 3 million tickets by the time she finishes her run through Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé clicked up 1.9 million sold seats and a $231.8 million box office take from 44 reported shows at 35 venues in European and North American markets.
