QMusic announces new general manager and program manager
QMusic has appointed Karsten Richert as its new general manager and Gav Parry as program manager.
Richert began organising festivals and corporate events in Germany after studying economics.
In 1996, he moved to Australia working in the hospitality industry before joining Staging Connections in Sydney as a technical event manager.
He was involved as part of the event team for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games at Stadium Australia.
His career took him to the Northern Territory managing Nitmiluk Tours, back to Germany doing hospitality and then, in 2008, was appointed general manager of the Staging Connections office in Canberra before becoming regional general manager of Queensland, New Zealand and Fiji.
It was one of the leading event staging companies in the Asia/Pacific region with over 1,000 staff and $80m turnover.
Parry began in the music industry eight years ago, first with triple j aired Brisbane based duo YesYou, before moving into artist management with Melbourne based artist and songwriter JANEVA who signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV, and Melbourne artist Blasko, whose debut mixtape in 2018 clocked up more than two million streams.
Perry also vocal A&R’s for a number of projects including Luude, Exist Recordings, Onelove and A&R’s locally for French-based independent label Yunizon Records.
