Publications and developers urging musicians not to upgrade to iOS7

A number of publications and software developers are warning those who use their iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch to create music not to upgrade to iOS7, as it has a number of serious bugs which will prove detrimental.

Music app developers Audiobus first raised the alarm, stating: “iOS 7 audio is not ready. There are a wide variety of bugs that are causing performance problems, crashes and other problems in a large number of music apps.” Other publications and developers have since raised similar flags.

It seems the worst issue is that incoming phone calls interrupt the recording of audio, which is obviously a huge problem. There are also supposedly issues with inner-app audio, USB audio interfaces and functionality.

CreateDigitalMusic has, however, warned this is simply cause for delay, not cause for alarm. “Here’s how it works: these are subtle issues that are likely to be resolved, if you wait”, they wrote. “But waiting is smart, because it’s better to hold out on new OS features but keep audio applications running smoothly.”

Audiobus echoes these sentiments, writing in a separate statement: “I’m sure Apple is doing everything they can to fix bugs as fast as possible and I trust they’ll fix all the things I’ve mentioned above in the next point releases.”

Now, to fix the issues with users complaining about vertigo and headaches.
