Powderfinger sign new publishing deal with Dew Process

Powderfinger have brought their publishing in-house by signing a worldwide administration deal with their manager Paul Piticco’s Dew Process Publishing.

The catalogue deal includes their first five studio albums, Parables For Wooden Ears, Double Allergic, Internationalist, Odyssey #5 and Vulture Street.  It covers some of their biggest hits including These Days, My Happiness and (Baby I’ve Got You) On My Mind. Powderfinger have sold two million albums in Australia before going on a hiatus after their 2010 Sunset Farewell Tour.

Dew Process Publishing will also represent compositions on the albums Dream Days At The Hotel Existence and Golden Rule in Europe, North America and the United Kingdom.

The deal will be administered through Dew Process Publishing’s current arrangement with Kobalt Music Group, who will also provide creative services including synch on a global basis.

Dew Process Publishing’s Licensing and A&R Manager Fergus Jenkins said, “To have the privilege of being the custodian of these songs is extremely humbling. Powderfinger are one of our country’s most treasured and important songwriters. I am looking forward to continuing to work closely with the ‘Fingers.”

“Kobalt is excited to extend our relationship with Dew Process and honoured to be representing such an important part of the amazing Powderfinger catalogue,” added Simon Moor, Sydney-based Managing Director of Kobalt Music Group Australia.

With their previous publisher Mushroom Music, Powderfinger music appeared in movies and TV series as Two Hands, Mission Impossible 2 and Grey’s Anatomy.

At Dew Process, they join a roster that includes The John Steel Singers, Last Dinosaurs, Whitley, Ernest Ellis, The Falls and Art Of Sleeping.
