PBS Radio Festival Is About Supporting Real Radio & Real People

PBS Radio Festival Is About Supporting Real Radio & Real People

PBS Radio Festival returned last week, celebrating the people and voices that make the Melbourne community radio station such a champion of independent music.

Taking place from Monday, May 15th-Sunday, May 28th, the theme of this year’s festival is ‘Keep It Real’.

That means focusing on the humans at the heart of PBS, those who create non-algorithmic and carefully curated playlists each and every week, which is something we can all get in behind as we face the rampant infiltration of AI in music.

PBS is looking for support in helping ‘Keep It Real’ for another year, ensuring that the lights keep blinking and the frequencies keep transmitting, but the station knows it goes both way.

That’s why PBS is giving back to its fans and followers as much as possible during the festival.

Each person who joins or renews their membership during the first two weeks of PBS Radio Festival will enter into the running to win a slew of daily prize packs. Anyone who signs up for May 1st-June 30th, meanwhile, will go straight into the major prize draw.

First prize is a Vespa Primavera 125 scooter in black (courtesy of Vespa Australia), second prize is a double pass to Golden Plains Sixteen, while other prizes include a Deluxe Acoustic Guitar, a year’s worth of PBS Feature Albums, and five nights accommodation at a cosy Queensland lodge.

Each member who joins or renews their membership throughout May and June as a Passionate, Patron, Business, Friend for Life, or Friend for Decade will receive an exclusive PBS Radio Festival T-Shirt.

All new or renewed members will each receive a download of PBS’ compilation album, bumper sticker, and Waves magazine twice a year.

And once someone receives their membership card, they can use it at many businesses for exclusive member discounts. Free airport parking, cheap photography, theatre tickets, even 10% off on bee removal – there’s something to suit everyone’s discount needs.

If you want to support the independent and not-for-profit station, you can do so here.
