Parkway Drive up for international Kerrang! award

Parkway Drive up for international Kerrang! award

Australian band Parkway Drive have consolidated their international standing with a nomination in the annual Kerrang! hard rock awards, held on June 21 in London.

They’re up for Best International Band against some heavyweight contenders – Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Metallica and Green Day.

The nomination comes in the wake of their new album Reverence storming US and European charts after its May release.

After debuting at #1 in Australia, Reverence debuted at #3 in Switzerland, #8 in Germany, #5 in Belgium and #14 in the UK.

In the United States, it generated 7.8 million streams in its first week.

It entered at #2 in the indie label and hard music charts, #3 in the rock charts and #34 in the Billboard Top 200.

This is despite singer Winston McCall describing Reverence as “our most brutal, darkest and polarising album yet.”

Tonight (June 1) the Byron Bay outfit licks off an 11-date run through Europe and the UK, beginning in the Netherlands.

A North American run with August Burns Red and The Devil Wears Prada beginning on August 30 from San Diego, in California and winds up on September 23 in Hollywood.

They tour Australia in October.
