Origin signs global deal with NSW country performer Angus Gill
Origin Music Publishing has signed a global deal with NSW Mid North Coast hailing singer/songwriter Angus Gill.
Gill is prepping the release of his second album, which he recorded in Nashville.
According to Origin, Gill’s latest trip to Nashville saw him work with music legends Rodney Crowell, Steve Earle, Bernie Taupin, and collaborate with Music Row’s biggest hitmakers, responsible for taking Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill to the #1 spot.
Gill said, “It’s a privilege to join the Origin Music family.
“I’ve got an exciting schedule ahead of me for the next 18 months, with new music on the way.
“I’m really looking forward to working with Philip and the team.”
In a post to fans, Gill noted that Origin represents Megan Washington, Gotye, Lior, James Morrison and many more as well as his close friends Michael Carpenter and Lawrie Minson.
Gill’s debut album Nomad, which he produced, saw him collaborate with major country music names as Adam Harvey, Gina Jeffreys, Luke O’Shea and Kevin Bennett
Its themes of journeys made it a popular companion for on-the-road trips, and won him an Australian Independent Country Music Award last year.
The songs ranged from the humour of ‘P Plater’ to ‘Starin’ Out The Back Of A Car’ dealing with the tragedy of the Stolen Generation.
Gill’s next major appearance is at Groundwater festival at Broadbeach, Queensland, on July 28.
