Craig Bruce and Mike Fitzpatrick talk about tomorrow’s survey

SCA Head of Content Craig Bruce, and Triple M Group Content Director Mike Fitzpatrick, have sat down for the now traditional pre-survey’SCA Engage’ video.
They’ve kicked around how the Triple M format sits in the market, and given their forecasts on survey next week for the brand.

As you’d expect, both were confident of the position Triple M is occupying, and the environment it has created for listeners and clients.

Two radio passings in the past week

One of the founding owners of 2Day FM, Greg Cooote, passed away last week. Coote, who was also the founding Managing Director of Village Roadshow, and had a long career in Hollywood, died of cancer aged 72.

Also last week, long-time Taree broadcaster Craig ‘Diceman’ Huth died of a stroke, he was aged 47.

Mediaworks CEO resigns after 30 years

Mediaworks in New Zealand is searching for a new Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of Sussan Turner late last week.

Turner had been the Group CEO of Mediaworks Radio and Television operations for the past four years, and had been with the company for 30 years.

Smooth turn on the charm

NOVA Entertainment has partnered with Art Series Hotel Group in Melbourne to create an experiential extension of the smoothfm brand.

The smooth suite will be a pop up accommodation experience at The Blackman Hotel on St Kilda Road, and is designed to create an immersion experience on the smooth brand for clients.

Guests can enjoy dinner and champagne at the hotel, with the smoothfm playlist playing in the suite following dinner. Clients will also receive two smoothfm robes as a memento of their stay.

Tom Ballard has returned to Triple J

During the survey break Tom is filling in for John Saffran on Sunday nights on Triple J, hosting a show called Chatback.

Tom describes the show as ’harnessing one of the greatest and most powerful tools in any modern liberal democracy: TALKBACK RADIO”.

Hobart General Manager leaves for New Zealand

Steve Rowe, the General Manager of 7HOFM in Hobart, has resigned to join Mediaworks New Zealand in Hamilton, as General Manager of the Waikato market.
Rowe, a New Zealander, moved to Australia in 2001 to manage the ARN Adelaide duopoly, and subsequently moved to Melbourne to oversee Mix and Gold, leaving ARN in 2010.
