On The Dial: 2Day and Fox re-focus brands; David Day’s Rock of Ages; Hamish & Andy launch cash prize; SCA’s new regional management structure

2Day and Fox re-focus their brands

Late last week both 2Day FM and Fox FM transitioned away from using the “hit” line in their On-Air positioning.

Hit Network Group CD Dave Cameron told Radio Today: “'Hit' will always be in our on-air vernacular, being the backbone of our format, but we are putting more of a focus on our '2Day' and 'Fox' brands in those respective markets“.

All the On-air content now positions straight – “2Day FM” or “Fox FM”.

Dave also confirmed that the overall Today Hit Network brand has also changed: “The overall network becomes just the 'Hit' network, and there is no change to station branding for any of our other stations that have undergone a transformation recently.”

Following the launch of the first Hit brand, being hit107 in Adelaide in 2014; by the new year the remaining SCA stations launched with a dual position line. Using their heritage name and the hit line, all in one. It resulted it "hit1041 2Day FM", "hit101.9 Fox FM" etc. It didn’t take long before both B105 and 929 moved permanently to the hit name, becoming hit105 and hit929 but the flagship markets of Sydney and Melbourne straddled both lines.

David Day's Rock of Ages

On Tuesday October 13, a who’s who of the Adelaide and Australian Music Industry, Day’s mates, will band together on stage in an unforgettable night of music and mateship to say thank you and to help his family.

David Day's Rock of Ages will the see the The Angels, Glenn Shorrock performing with The Twilights for the second time in 12 years, Russell Morris, Brian Cadd, John Schumann, Swanee and The Masters Apprentices plus countless others, hit the stage at the Thebarton Theatre.

David “Daisy” Day sadly lost his battle in April this year. Daisy was the Godfather of Adelaide radio. dominating the Adelaide airwaves during the 70’s 80’s and 90’s on 5KA, SAFM and Triple M. He was also a champion of Aussie Rock with Daisy co-founding the SA Music Hall of Fame and starting the local chapter of Support Act.

“The commitment Daisy showed to those in the music industry in need over the last years of his life was remarkable. He’d literally go from the hospital to the event to help out and raise money for Support Act with Annette as always right by his side. Getting together and putting on this show for his family is the least we can do to repay his life’s dedication to Australian Music,” said Russell Morris.
