NSW offers fellowships for musicians through CreateNSW
The NSW Government’s Create NSW is offering eleven Fellowships that will enable professional and personal development as well as career advancement for emerging, mid-career and established musicians.
These are also available for those in the dance, design, digital arts, history, Aboriginal arts, literature, theatre, screen, community arts, curatorial and the visual arts.
Funding can be used to enable mentorships and internships with recognised practitioners and organisations, for residencies or workshops, for international travel and research or to develop skillsets and new works.
Priority areas such as Aboriginal arts, artists with disability, regional NSW and Western Sydney are eligible for Fellowships worth $50,000.
Artform Fellowships will receive $30,000 in funding.
For musicians these include the NSW Performing Arts/Music Fellowship (for mid-career and established) and the Peter Sculthorpe Music Fellowship for emerging composers.
Create NSW CEO Michael Brealey says that the array of NSW Fellowships rewarded substantial talent and offered new opportunities and skills, and a chance to advance careers.
“The range of Fellowships on offer from Create NSW highlight the incredible artists working across NSW,” he pointed out.
“With substantial funding behind each Fellowship, they reward artistic endeavours and give each recipient a once-in-a-lifetime chance to propel their career with a bespoke and strategic opportunity.”
Applications have to be in by August 7, with more information available at Create NSW.
