Introducing Australia’s next EDM star Notorious CHRIS
Australia’s reputation for breaking electronic and EDM artists continues to go from strength to strength, with one of the latest rising acts to emerge being Notorious CHRIS.
With over a million global streams already, this young gun is one to watch in 2020 and beyond, having racked up performances at festivals including Groovin The Moo, Goodlife Presents and The Grass Is Greener, as well as support slots for Ekali, Duke Dumont, Amine, What So Not and Allday.
For Notorious CHRIS, one of the most important parts of his project is to remain as authentic as possible and connect with fans by putting his music above all else.
“I am building my brand through my music first and foremost– as this is the most important part of my project, Notorious CHRIS,” he tells TMN.
“Being authentic on social media and connecting with my fans in a real, organic way is also extremely important to me. Additionally, I have been doing collaborations like ‘I Would Never’ with producer Jerry Jay to expand my fan base and market.
“It is always an amazing opportunity to work with other producers I admire around the world to create music together and grow from each other, but also in a marketing sense.”
Several of his releases to date have been doing serious numbers on streaming services; including ‘Activate’ (almost 105K streams across Spotify and Soundcloud), ‘Desolate’ (85K streams) and recent cut ‘I Would Never’ (already 45K streams in just a few short weeks).
Like many artists at the moment, he’s been making the most of lockdown to work on new music.
“I am currently working on my first EP right now,” Notorious CHRIS says. “After my release on Barong Family on 5/15, I have been extremely inspired to write more music, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear what is up next for me in terms of original music!
“I also have a remix coming out in a few weeks that was a lot of fun to make with a friend, Xenosis, of Shadow Moses by Bring Me The Horizon.”
