NORO Music Therapy Music Quiz Returns Next Week With Georgia Mooney, Gretta Ray

Get your thinking caps on, swot hard, and get the competitive juices flowing — the NORO Music Therapy Music Quiz is just around the corner.

The fundraiser returns from a pandemic-induced hibernation with a “new look,” “fresh feel,” and a “few surprises,” reps say.

APRA and NORO are behind with the Music Quiz, which sees teams of eight and individuals lock horns for a battle of the music brains and, for the top competitors, a spot in the Music Quiz Hall of Fame.

Across its 22-year history, a who’s who of music legends have presented or emceed the event, from Jenny Morris to Iva Davies, Peter Garrett, Dave Faulkner, Deni Hines, Jimmy Barnes, Reg Mombassa, Peter O’Doherty, David Campbell, Diesel and Glenn A Baker.

Taking on double duties as MC and performer is All Our Exes Live In Texas’ singer and songwriter Georgia Mooney, co-host of the 2021 APRA Music Awards.

Other performers on the night include Gretta Ray, 2016 Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition winner, hip-hop R&B artist and producer BVT.

Quiz masters this time are Adam Lewis and Dom Alessio.

Noro Music Quiz

Held next Wednesday (Nov. 9) in central Sydney, the quiz is an initiative of APRA and NORO, Australia’s leading not-for-profit music therapy and the largest employer of registered music therapists in the country.

“We are super excited to bring Music Quiz back in a new home with a refreshed format,” comments Belinda Leonard, CEO of NORO.

”Not only is it a great night to connect with our friends in the music industry, but this year it will raise very much needed funds to help us on the long road of recovery after COVID 19.”

Winning

The music quiz has “raised valuable funds to enable us to fit out new clinic spaces and ensure that we have an ongoing supply of instruments and resources – so super valuable,” a spokesperson tells TMN.

The action kicks off 7pm at Sydney Masonic Centre, 66 Goulburn Street. Individual tickets are priced at $130, and a table of 8 will cost $1,040. Tickets are available Eventbrite.
