Nine confirms return date of The Voice, change in coach lineup

Nine Network confirmed that The Voice is returning to the screens on Monday April 16 – the day after the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony

There is a change in the coach red chairs. Delta Goodrem, Boy George and Kelly Rowland will be joined by Joe Jonas replacing Seal.

Last year’s season, the show’s sixth in this country, premiered with 1.277 million metro viewers.

The grand final saw 1.306 million metros and 604,000 regional viewers tune in to see 20-year old country soul singer Judah Kelly win.

It topped the night and won all the demos.

The Voice Australia is produced by ITV Studios for Nine.

Kelly’s first album Count On Me, through Universal Music Australia as part of the prize, reached #3 while the title track reached #19.

Two follow-up singles failed to chart but Kelly continued to tour through Australia and New Zealand.

Last week be began work on his second album in Sydney.
