New single and music video released for #MMAD4U Day
To coincide with the second annual #MMAD4U Day, music charity MMAD (Musicians Making a Difference) has officially released the single and music video for this year’s campaign.
It’s Your Time was written by 10 young Rising Stars who have shown potential for change as individuals. The single was recorded at The Grove Studios in Newcastle alongside award-winning producer Scott Horscroft.
Don Leaton, lead singer and songwriter for the new single, is currently studying a Diploma of Music and was a contestant on The Voice 2016 where he made it through to the Super Battle as part of Team Madden.
The music video for It’s Your Time was produced in partnership with World Wide Mind (WWM), an international creatives company, with post production firm Heckler. WWM assisted in developing the concept for the video, which was shot in and around Central Station and Harmony Park in Sydney.
Ben Swaffer, a Producer at World Wide Mind said, “With so many of the team at WWM and post production company Heckler being parents, to be able to help drive this project and hopefully inspire these kids and others, makes this one of the most rewarding projects of the year. We are enormously grateful to all those involved.”
All proceeds from the sale of It’s Your Time will be donated to MMAD. The charity seeks to create a sense of family for vulnerable young people and offers a creative safe-haven where they are supported in breaking negative cycles and empowered to use their own unique talents.
While last year’s campaign was supported by well-known local and international acts including Justice Crew, 5 Seconds of Summer, Empire of the Sun and Birds of Tokyo, #MMAD4U Day 2016 has garnered similar support from the industry.
Canadian pop sensation Shawn Mendes, Irish superstar Ronan Keating, Michael Franti, as well as local artists Hilltop Hoods, Tigerlily, Havana Brown, Caitlyn Shadbolt, 360, KLP, The McClymonts, Harrison Craig and Tkay Maidza have shown their support for the current campaign. The stars have all posted pictures of themselves with a #MMAD4U sign on their social media pages.
