YVETTE MYHILL EXITING AAM

The Association of Artist Managers (AAM) Australia is losing its Executive Director, Yvette Myhill. She is leaving the association this week after accepting a full-time position with Arts NSW. “It has been an incredible experience working with Australia’s world class managers,” she said in parting. Advertising for a replacement will begin this week.

PROGRAMMING CHANGES AT NOVA, SMOOTH

NOVA Entertainment announced changes at its Sydney operations following Stuart Herron’s resignation from Nova 96.9. He spent two years as PD and three years as Integration and Marketing Director.

Wendy Saundershas exited her role as Music Directorat Nova 96.9.Saunders took on the position at the start of2015 following programming roles at MTV and Foxtel Music Channels. With over 15 years music industry experience Saunders is often called upon byTMNfor insights into radio trends and contributed to theTMN Mid-Year Chart Report.

Saunders toldTMNshe is currently looking for new opportunities.

Peter Clay is now in the newly-created role of Head of Programs for Nova 96.9 and the smoothfm network. After joining the company in 2011 to oversee special projects, he has been smoothfm Program Director for the past two years, during which time the station had five number one books.

Georgie Page takes over as smoothfm Program Director from special projects, while Sarah McGilvray becomes Nova 96.9’s Program Director.

Brendon Taylor remains as Group Programming Operations Director and will also take on the new role of Head of Commercial Integration for the Nova and smoothfm.

VEVO APPOINTS JON GISBY TO HEAD EUROPE

Before Chief Revenue Officer Nic Jones’ return to Australia (as reported exclusively in TMN), Vevo has installed Jon Gisby as London-based head of Europe. Gisby had previously worked in the role in a consulting capacity. Over the past 20 years he worked as a digital marketing executive for an array of broadcasters, rights holders and brands.

BISSELL BACK FOR CROWDED HOUSE

Barry Bissell, former host of Take40 Australia, makes a return to the air in November for the one-hour radio special Something so Strong: Celebrating 30 Years Of Crowded House to coincide with the band’s induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

BARRY GIBB SMOOTHS IN

Barry Gibb has launched his Sunday afternoon show on smoothfm 95.3 Sydney, smoothfm 91.5 Melbourne and on smoothfm DAB between 4 pm to 5 pm. He’ll do the stint until the end of November.

He said of his hosting duties: “I love it. I’ve never really had the opportunity and so it’s a new experience but I was inspired by the best – John Laws, Ward Austin and Bob Rogers…so all I can do is imitate them.“

RED BULL RECORDS’ NEW GLOBAL MARKETING HEAD

Red Bull Records announced Katie Robinson Addis as its new Global Head of Marketing. Based in LA, she spearheads all marketing efforts worldwide, including branding and conceptual oversight, digital marketing, advertising, and D2C amongst other responsibilities.

Over the past ten years she’s worked in marketing for Interscope, Geffen and A&M Records, overseeing projects such as The 1975 and Madonna. She was previously Senior Director of Marketing at Fueled By Ramen/Elektra Records, where she developed and executed strategic global marketing plans for artists including Bruno Mars, Twenty One Pilots, Paramore, fun and Panic! At The Disco.

NEW GM FOR SNOW FM

Andrew Dunkerley is the new General Manager of Capital Network stations Snow FM & 2XL after Richard Wybrew retired after 20 years to move to Queensland.

Dunkerley previously worked at Mix 106.3 Canberra, Gold 104.3, SEN and Mix 101.1 Melbourne, Star FM Orange and Radio Sport National.

SBS’ NEW CORPORATE AFFAIRS HEAD

After five years at Free TV Australia’s Clare O’Neil joins SBS next month as Director of Corporate Affairs. Her predecessor Tureia Sample, who had been with the broadcaster for 13 years in various roles, has returned to a commercial legal role and will be joining PricewaterhouseCoopers.

BAGGS FILLING IN FOR BAR RAT

Kiis FM Melbourne’s Simon Baggs fills in for his long time friend Bar Rat for a few weeks on 919 SEA FM Sunshine Coast’s breakfast show. The latter is getting some time off before his co-host Jess heads off on maternity leave.

NEW ANZ MANAGER FOR RUBICON

Adtech provider Rubicon Project hired Simone Krakowiak as country manager for Australia and New Zealand. She replaces Adele Wieser who left end of last year. Krakowiak held senior posts at Vdopia and Big Mobile.

CAMBRIDGE FOLK FESTIVAL GM STEPS DOWN

Cambridge Folk Festival’s GM Eddie Barcan has stepped down, saying that after 23 consecutive sell-outs, “due to strategic developments within Cambridge Live, the time is right for me to move on to new opportunities.”

NEW FACE AT CHILLI FM

Candice Hazeltine is joining Dan Taylor as co-host on Chilli Fm’s new breakfast show. Her previous role, as drive announcer for Power FM 94.9 Nowra, is now occupied by Jade Leeder from Power FM 98.1 Muswellbrook.

LG EXECS DEPART

Leaving LG Electronics Australia’s operations are Chris Horne, Head of Home Entertainment, and Grant Vandenberg, Head of TV Marketing.
