Clear Channel’s John Hogan retires
John Hogan, Chairman and CEO of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, is retiring. He joined in 1999 when the company acquired Jacor Communications, where he was SVP of radio. Bob Pittman, Chairman and CEO of CC Media Holdings extended his contract for an extra five-year term.
Former UMPG head finds spirit
Former Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group, David Renzer, has been appointed Chairman of independent publisher Spirit Music.
ARN Melbourne sets up in-house publicist
Australian Radio Network Melbourne has brought its publicity in-house, appointing former Ten Marketing and Publicity Manager Stephanie Bansemer-Brown. Its publicity was previously handled by Flourish PR.
New CMAA board member
The Country Music Association of Australia has a new board member, bush balladeer Keith Jamieson, following its recent AGM. He joins sitting members Dobe Newton (president), Jeff Chandler (chairman), Gayle Madill (secretary), Marius Els (treasurer), Allan Caswell, Roger Corbett, Brendan Radford, Tamara Stewart and Graham Thompson. Three “board elected” members are Brian Harris, Tom Inglis and Paul O’Gorman.
Molly Meldrum to make Australia Day debut
Ian “Molly” Meldrum makes his debut on MAX channel counting down the Top 100 Greatest Australian Songs of All Time – as determined by a group of musicians – on Sunday, January 26 from 10 am. The musicians included Paul Kelly, Jimmy Barnes, Wally De Backer, Daryl Braithwaite, Don Walker, John Butler, Tina Arena, Keith Urban, James Reyne, Megan Washington, Kasey Chambers and Andrew Stockdale.
