Music Victoria launches live music program
Music Victoria has announced the launch of Live Music Professionals. The brand new program targets independent promoters and venues and seeks to help individuals in the Victorian music community build sustainable live music businesses.
The program requires an application process in which Individuals from live music venues (owner, bookers, and managers) and independent promoters are encouraged to apply. Applications from Victorians of all backgrounds will also be accepted.
Successful Live Music Professionals program applicants will be granted the chance to be matched with skilled and experienced industry professionals from the broader Victorian music scene.
Participants in the program will receive one-on-one coaching sessions in key areas tailored to their individual and/or business needs. Furthermore, successful applicants will attend Victoria’s annual contemporary music conference – Face The Music – where they will be exposed and immersed in an environment with invaluable networking opportunities.
“Music Victoria is very excited about delivering this program,’’ said Music Victoria CEO Patrick Donovan. “The program is specifically targeted at the needs of the Victorian live music sector and will up-skill the next generation of leading promoters and venue operators to ensure the Victorian live music sector continues to grow and prosper.”
Shaun Adams from Karova Lounge in Ballarat says, “Having spent most of my life working and supporting the music industry in regional areas, I would have only dreamed for a program like this to exist when I first started. It’s amazing to have opportunities like this to exist outside the metro regions and hopefully it can inspire the next generation of artists and venues to keep feeding the Victorian music landscape.”
Entries for the free Live Music Professionals program will close on March 31 2017. For more information, click here.
