Mushroom Music, Unified Music, gain Amy Shark publishing for ANZ as she plans North America return

Mushroom Music Publishing and UNIFIED Music Publishing have revealed that they recently acquired Amy Shark’s publishing for Australian and New Zealand.

The two companies’ joint ventures include Vance Joy and Illy to date.

UNIFIED’s CEO and founder, Jaddan Comerford said, “After an incredible year for Amy Shark including winning two ARIA’s, a performance on James Corden and being announced as Australia’s first Apple Up Next Artist, we couldn’t be more thrilled to announce our new partnership with Mushroom Music Publishing for AUS/NZ.

“UNIFIED and Mushroom have built a strong relationship over the years and I can’t wait to see that grow through working closely with Michael (Gudinski), Ian (James), Linda (Bosidis) and the team on one of the most exciting new artists in the country right now, Amy Shark.”

Shark, recent winner of ARIAs for Breakthrough Artist and Best Pop Release, continues next year to work the North American market through 2018, with a run of 16 shows there between February 20 and March 14.

Her run of dates will see her take in cities including Los Angeles, Seattle, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Chicago, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Philadelphia, Washington DC and Boston.

Shark first toured North America in June, selling out the Mercury Lounge show in New York.

She returned a few months later opening for Vance Joy on his sold out Lay It On Me Tour, and then opened for The Bleachers on their Gone Now Era Tour last month.

Her debut London headline show at Hoxton Bar in October sold out in three days.

Amy Shark’s Australian triple platinum certified single ‘Adore’ has clocked up over 27 million streams to date, while follow up ‘Weekends’, which is gold in Australia, has accumulated over five million streams on Spotify

Denis Handlin, head of Sony Music Entertainment Australia and New Zealand told TMN earlier this week that setting her up with her management team at UNIFIED including the US, UK and Europe was paying off.

“Right now there are some very encouraging signs at US radio and this is starting to filter through to European markets.

“Apple Music’s Up Next feature on Amy is exceptional support in creating even more global awareness.

“Our goal is for Amy to continue to build her audience with an album release and further international touring in 2018.”

Back home in Australia Shark recently wrapped up dates on Sia’s stadium run.

This support tour was designed to expand her following, having sold out her two national tours this year, the 12 date Adore Tour followed by 13 shows for the Night Thinker Tour.

She’s set to keep the momentum going, touring with Laneway festival in early 2018.
