Moshtix announces key signings and hires, expanding digital marketing and Melbourne office
Independent ticketing agent Moshtix has signalled a period of aggressive growth and expansion with key new signings and new management hires.
It’s picked up ticketing rights for the soon-to-reopen Melbourne live music venue The Esplanade (aka The Espy) in the wake of similar agreements with the Australian Turf Club, Taronga Zoo, Laneway festival and CMC Rocks festival over the last six months.
Chief executive officer Harley Evans told TMN, “These recent key client acquisitions in an ever-competitive marketplace show that the industry still values an expert partner that brings tailored solutions to the table rather than just a platform, and that has a strong engagement with the ticket buyer.
“The ATC and Taronga signings speak to the strength of the Moshtix brand and reputation outside of the traditional music venue and festival space.”
Australian Turf Club’s business relationship manager, Mark Hickey, said of the appointment of Moshtix: “There are so many options in the market these days with ticketing that venues and promoters are spoiled for choice.
“What really stood out for us was Moshtix’s ability to truly understand our vision and be able to provide a technology, marketing and support structure that was tailored to us.
“Our thinking has been vindicated through increased pre-sales, automated data integration, and higher customer service levels since Moshtix were appointed.”
This growth of the business has seen it bolster its management and staff ranks with several high profile appointments.
These include Kevin Cooper in the newly created role of head of marketing and innovation.
Cooper was formerly group marketing and customer technology manager at ALH Group, Australia’s largest pub group and Woolworths subsidiary.
Evans told TMN, “With Kevin joining the team at Moshtix, we really are establishing ourselves as an industry leader in digital marketing.
“With his background, he brings a wealth of experience in executing digital marketing campaigns at a very large scale as well as a strategic mindset that will benefit our larger marketing and growth focussed functions.
“Initially Kevin is focussed on re-inventing our own email and social marketing strategies while establishing a larger Melbourne Moshtix office.
“We have a long roadmap of digital initiatives we’re planning to deliver this financial year which I’m extremely excited about. “
Cooper said in a statement of his appointment: “I was very drawn to the energy and passion that Moshtix have for what they do, and was extremely excited about the prospect of working with them.
“Moving from a large enterprise such as ALH was a big step, but the opportunity I see for Moshtix to really push the local ticketing industry forward made it an easy decision for me.”
