Victorian Govt to open registrations for Michael Gudinski memorial
The Victorian Government has announced more details for the planned State Memorial service for Mushroom Group founder and Australian Music legend, Michael Gudinski.
Gudinski passed away on March 2 aged 68, with much of the industry rocked by the news.
The State Memorial, to be held at Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday, 24 March, will include tributes, speeches, performances, and celebrate his contribution to the music industry.
TMN understands Ed Sheeran has arrived in Australia and will perform at the memorial, which will be live streamed via the government’s homepage.
His charitable works and passion for the state of Victoria will also be highlighted next Wednesday.
Those wishing to attend are invited to register their interest from 5pm AEDT on Tuesday, 16 March, with registrations closing at 5pm AEDT on Thursday, 18 March.
Successful registrations will be contacted by email prior to 2pm AEDT on Saturday, 20 March.
In lieu of flowers, the Gudinski family have asked supporters to consider making a donation in Gudinski’s name to Support Act – a charity for which he passionately advocated.
Michael Gudinski – My Story premieres on Foxtel Arts on Tuesday, March 23 at 7.30pm with an encore on March 24 at 8.30pm on Fox Showcase, and will also be available on-demand.
