Menulog and Mushroom Creative partner for TikTok remix activation
Menulog has partnered with Mushroom Group to invite Australian up-and-coming artists to remix the food delivery service’s jingle ‘Did Somebody Say Menulog’.
First performed by Snoop Dogg, the song was then redone by Australian artists Baker Boy, Big Twisty, D’Arcy Spiller and Kirsten Salty. Now, local singers are invited to make their own contribution to the song via TikTok’s duet feature.
Entrants have to record a video performing the song however they so choose, post it to TikTok with the official song ‘Did Somebody Say – Big Twisty’ and use the #DeliverItDifferently hashtag.
Judges will view submissions until they decide on one winner.
That winner will walk away with a prize valued at $25,000 that includes mentoring, full day in-studio recording, artist support, flights, accommodation and a few Menulog vouchers.
Menulog’s head of brand Fiona Bateman said the competition was inspired by musicians’ need to adapt during the pandemic.
“Our homes have become a stage during a truly difficult time in the music industry,” she said.
“We’ve seen Aussies take on the world from their bedrooms, now we want to give homegrown talent the opportunity to take it to the next level. We want to hear from all the talented Aussie artists out there #DeliverItDifferently.”
Jess Tarpey, Mushroom Creative House’s chief operating officer, echoed this sentiment, stressing how important it is to continue to support artists of all sizes after the past two years.
“We were incredibly proud to create and produce the Menulog ‘Everyone Delivers Differently’ work. Being able to support local Australian artists after a difficult 18 months felt – and still feels – incredibly, incredibly important for us to do as a business,” Tarpey said.
“Evolving this further to bring in both TikTok artists and local consumers feels like the perfect next step. We’re looking forward to seeing where they take it.”
