Matilda Pearl signs to Sweat It Out, UNIFIED Management & Lonely Lands Agency

Matilda Pearl, an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, has signed a deal with Sweat It Out, UNIFIED Management and Lonely Lands Agency.

Sweat It Out said Pearl is inspired by classic pop icons such as Kylie Minogue and Madonna as well as disco staple Jamiroquai.

Her single, ‘Linger’ is out today.

“Matilda Pearl tastefully fuses her angelic vocals with vibrant dance-pop productions. With a knack for creating infectious indie pop music, ‘Linger’ is an earworm filled with sparkling 80s synth sounds and funk guitar chords,” Sweat It Out said.

Matt Handles, A&R at Sweat it Out, added that signing Pearl was a no-brainer.

“When we came across Matilda pearl, we were instantly blown away by not just her amazing voice but her undeniable and inimitable take on melody. Then we met her and to add to these gifts of nature, we quickly realised that she was not just talented, but extremely hard-working, motivated and determined with a direction and maturity that belied her age, not to mention as humble and sweet as they come,” he said.

Aidan McLaren was also full of praise, saying the team at UNIFIED couldn’t be happier to be working with Pearl and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

“Matilda is one of those incredibly rare people/artists where the moment you meet them it’s blinding apparent that there is something really special about them. She has an incredible voice, writes amazing melodies and lyrics, is a lovely person and on top of that is one of the hardest working and creative people we’ve worked with,” McLaren said.

Desiree Venuto, Lonely Lands Agency’s booking agent, said Pearl has a big future ahead of her.

“We’re so thrilled to be working with an artist as talented, driven and passionate as Matilda Pearl. We’re excited to translate her strong artistic vision to the live scene and see her take it to the next level,” she added.

Pearl, meanwhile, said the deals had changed her life.

“I feel incredibly lucky to be part of the Sweat It Out family, I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been working on together as well as what we will create over the coming years,” she said.

“I am also so excited and flattered to be part of the Lonely Lands family, the gig opportunities that they are able to put on the table for me because of the artists they represent have been totally insane.

“Last but not least, the team from The Hills Are Alive and Unified have quite literally changed my life. I clicked instantly with Aidan and I feel beyond excited that recently, I signed officially with Aidan, Joey and Rhett (Unified Music Group) who in such a short time, have already become like my big brothers. To be surrounded by a family of hardworking and insanely creative people this early in my career is so exciting.”
