MATE and Tidal join forces for upcoming livestream series

MATE and Tidal join forces for upcoming livestream series

Telecommunications provider MATE has teamed up with Tidal to launch a new livestream series supporting Australian artists throughout lockdown.

A Night In With Mates will run on a weekly basis and feature a lineup of both established and emerging Sydney artists, with each artist being allocated a 30-minute performance slot for the series. The full lineup is set to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The series will run across September and October and will be available for all Australian viewers to watch for free regardless of whether they’re a MATE customer or not.

The partnership will also see MATE customers granted free access to Tidal’s premium subscription plan, letting them enjoy HiFi streaming and other in-app content at no extra cost.

MATE’s Mark Fazio said that the A Night In With Mates initiative was created after the telco provider’s plans to hold a series of live music events were scuppered by Sydney’s ongoing lockdown.

“When we saw how hard many artists were doing due to the lockdown, and the cancellation of live performances, we decided we wanted to show the industry a little bit of mateship as well,” Fazio said.

“Our music series is a great chance to get all of your mates online whilst supporting the Aussie industry.  We are working with our partners (our mates) to bring you some great deals to enjoy the events even more. So, whilst you listen to some great music, you can chill out with some great drinks, food and fun – and forget about lockdowns for a little while.”
