Maroon 5 & Slayer announce 2019 Australian tour plans
In a day that will appease people on both sides of the musical spectrum, Maroon 5 and Slayer have announced that their respective world tours will see them in Australia in 2019.
Maroon 5 revealed overnight that their Red Pill Blues Tour will take in three Australian cities on their way to Asia.
Live Nation has just announced they’ll be in Brisbane on February 19, Sydney on February 21 and Melbourne on February 22. Tickets will go on sale via Live Nation on Monday, September 11.
After that, they head off to an Asian run that includes Tokyo, Seoul, Taiwan, Macau, Singapore and Bangkok.
Slayer, who are currently on their farewell tour, have finished the first two legs of North America.
They then hit Europe between November 1 to December 8 with Lamb Of God, Obituary and Anthrax.
There are no specific dates for Australia yet but the band issued a statement that they’ll be in South America, Australia and Japan in 2019.
“We always knew this tour would take us into 2019,” said the band’s Kerry King, “and we’ve been blown away by the response we’ve been getting here in North America.
“We’ve heard about fans who have driven five, six hours, or flown in from other cities or countries to see us, so we want to assure our fans that we’ll be on the road through 2019 and will get to as many places around the world as possible to make it easier for everyone to come and see us one last time.”
