Maribelle Añes Signs With Concord Music Publishing ANZ (EXCLUSIVE)
Maribelle Añes, the songwriter and producer professionally known as Vetta Borne, is now represented by Concord Music Publishing ANZ on a worldwide basis.
A Melbourne native, Añes has collaborated with some of the finest producers in the business, from Styalz Fuego (Troye Sivan, Khalid) to M-Phazes (Remi Wolf, Ruel) and Djemba Djemba (Sia, Madonna).
Her songwriting talents are no secret. Troye Sivan personally tapped her to join the 2023 World Pride SongHubs writing camp in partnership with APRA AMCOS, and invites have come from prestigious writing camps organised by Oak Felder (known for working with Nicki Minaj and Demi Lovato) and multiple APRA Award-winner Sarah Aarons (collaborator of Zedd and Miley Cyrus).
Charli XCX covered her song “On Fire” with Carmada for triple j’s “Like A Version,” and Alicia Keys included in her in the “Created by Women” playlist. Triple j Unearthed spotlighted her as a feature artist and an “acclaimed hitmaker”.
Also, she recently collected the MPE Guild (Engineers & Producers Guild) Self Producing Artist of the Year Award.
“Maribelle is an incredibly talented producer and songwriter, her natural flair coupled with her commitment to her craft is remarkable,” comments Hazel Gordon, A&R manager, Concord Music Publishing ANZ.
“Matt Tanner and I have been admirers of Maribelle’s work for some time now, we’re thrilled to be working with her in this new and exciting chapter of her career.”
Maribelle introduced her artist project Vetta Borne in 2019, landing spots on several festivals and accumulating more than 8 million streams on various platforms, all signs of “significant traction,” notes Concord.
The Concord deal, announced Friday, April 5, follows the release on March 20 of her latest single “40-40,” her debut release with [PIAS] Australia.
“I’ve worked at the Concord studio many times along my journey, yet it took time to realise that Concord was the home I had always been searching for,” adds Añes. “To be a part of the Concord family is nothing short of a dream fulfilled. I know we’re going to reach great heights together.”
Next week, she will participate as a featured producer for ONE OFF TRACKS, an all-women and non-binary writing camp held over four days throughout Sydney’s inner west.
Concord Music Publishing ANZ was formed in August 2022 through Concord’s acquisition of Native Tongue, a family business based in Melbourne with staff in Sydney and Auckland.
Since then, the music company has signed the likes of Richard Clapton, Luude, Coterie, SACHI and others.
