Luude Launches Label No Instruction (EXCLUSIVE)
Christian Benson, the Australian DJ and producer who, as Luude, has been crushing international charts with his barnstorming brand of drum ‘n’ bass, is now a label chief.
Announced today (July 26), Luude launches No Instruction in partnership with management company Cloak, and Virgin Music.
To celebrate the new imprint, Luude drops his own cut “Fun In The Sun” with Melbourne producer Harry Be, with a range of artists to be platformed throughout the year, reps say.
“We want to throw good parties,” explains Luude of his label, “put out records we like from people we like and we want to have a good crack at doing all those things as best and big as possible.”
With an ambition to connect club culture, the new enterprise is about “creating legitimate moments” for artists, and will do just that by hosting a series of live events across U.K., Europe and Australia.
The first event, a pop-up party, is set for July 31 in London featuring Denham Audio, Diffrent, Bushbaby, EFAN, Tom Santa, Willo and, of course, Luude.
The Australian EDM star became hot property during the pandemic, particularly in the U.K. where his cover of Men At Work’s “Down Under,” featuring Colin Hay on vocals, peaked at No. 5 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart. The track also went to No. 10 on the ARIA Chart and won the ARIA Award for best dance/electronic release.
Released by Sweat It Out and distributed by ADA, “Down Under” also landed Luude in the shortlist for the Michael Gudinski breaking artist, best video, and song of the year.
His follow-up, “Big City Life” with Mattafix, went to No. 8 on the U.K. chart in July 2022, and he went on to sign an exclusive global deal with Concord Music Publishing ANZ.
