Leaps and Bounds festival announces final lineup for 2018

Melbourne’s Leaps and Bounds festival (July 13—22) has announced its final lineup this morning.

It kicks off with local talent across four venues in the City of Yarra precincts.

There is Cosmo’s Midnight’s all ages matinee at The Corner, Glovv and Waterfall Person at the Pinnacle, Penny Ikinger headlining at the Yarra Hotel and the launch of Go! at the Gasometer featuring Blake Scott (Peep Tempel) and more.

Other sets are by King Parrot, Kimbra stopping over as part of her national tour, Moon Rituals, Lake Minnetonka, Sarah and Mikey Young performing MR’s last ever shows, a two-part album launch from instrumental-hip hop Tangents and newcomers Porpoise Spit launching their first EP.

Flight to Africa and Creme De La Femme are at the Evelyn and Muddy’s Blues Roulette meets Philly cheesesteaks at the Catfish.

New instrumental funk outfit Star Time’s make their debut at the Fitzroy Bowls Club. Award-winning actor, musician, storyteller and local Aboriginal elder Uncle Jack Charles graces Saint Charlie bar with his vast repertoire.

Cumbia LUNAR at the Night Cat celebrate all things Colombian Independence and moon landing and an all-ages family-friendly day gig in Schoolhouse Studio’s Playtime

New events include the Fitzroy Bowls Club record fair, Rock a Bye Baby, The Standard’s Women of Country and a live broadcast of PBS 106.7FM’s long-running Acid Country show.
