Laneway 2018 lineup revealed: Billie Eilish, Slowdive, ODESZA and more
St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival has announced its main lineup for 2018, one day prior to the planned reveal date.
Accidentally leaked a day early, the bill nonetheless impresses with a wide range of established and emerging acts across a number of genres.
Back with their first album in 22 years, English dream pop/shoegazeiconsSlowdive are making a comeback to the stage, while at only 16 years old, Billie Eilish is youngest member of the Laneway touring party since Lorde’s unforgettable run in 2014, adding her pop sensibilities to the mix.
There are five festival exclusives on next year’s lineup: BADBADNOTGOOD, Bonobo, ODESZA, The Internet, and Wolf Alice. Aussie hitmaker Amy Shark will cap off a huge 18 months at Laneway after returning from a run of international headline shows this October.
Of the 27 acts on the bill, 12 are women or have members who are women, making it one of the highest ratios of female representation of any Australian festival this year.
The full lineup announcement follows the overwhelming response to the Mac DeMarco/Anderson .Paak first announcement which saw presale ticket allocations exhausted in record time.
Tickets go on sale to general public on Monday 18 September at 9.00am local time via Laneway’s website.
