Kylie quashes Parlophone exit gossip

UPDATE: June 3 2014 – Kylie confirms in a Tweet that she is not leaving Parlophone and that the Sun’s story was false.

Warner Music Australia has responded to rumours surrounding Kylie Minogue’s deal in the UK, clarifying that it has a separate and ongoing relationship with the artist.

UK tabloid newspaper The Sun ran a story some 15 hours ago (also picked up by SMH) quoting an unnamed source who claimed that Kylie has ditched local label Warner/Parlophone after the supposed ‘flop’ of her most recent album. Kiss Me Once debuted at #2 on the UK’s Official Albums Chart.

A spokesperson for Kylie here in Australia explains that her deal in this territory is separate to that in the UK and is most certainly ongoing. “Kylie’s record deal locally is with Mushroom/Warner Music. We are proud to represent her and don’t plan to change that,” they told TMN this afternoon.

Kiss Me Once debuted at #1 on the ARIA albums chart. The singer is enjoying residency on home soil, receiving fond reviews for her role as coach on the local version of The Voice and striking up media successes with front covers on the likes of Vogue magazine.
