King Gizzard scores #2 ARIA debut as Tones and I extends singles run
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have the highest debut on the ARIA Albums Chart, thanks to their new album Infest The Rats’ Nest.
It’s the second album the prolific Aussie group have released in 2019 alone, and their fifteenth since forming in 2010.
Infest The Rats’ Nest debuts at #2, matching their highest peak which came in 2017 with Flying Microtonal Banana.
After making Australian charts history at the start of the month, Tones and I continues her streak at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
‘Dance Monkey’ racks up a fourth consecutive week atop the chart, in its eleventh charting week.
She becomes the first Australian female solo artist since Gabriella Cilmi’s 2008 single ‘Sweet About Me’ to spend four straight weeks atop the chart.
Tones also holds #20 (‘Johnny Run Away’) and #21 (‘Never Seen The Rain’).
The highest debut on the chart came from Taylor Swift’s new single ‘Lover’, the title track from her seventh studio album.
