Katie Noonan’s manager Jesse Flavell launches new PR company
The trio behind SUM Management, who, among others, represent Katie Noonan, have launched a new public relations company, Collected PR.
After successfully doing PR in-house for the SUM artists, founder Jesse Flavell says Collected PR’s focus is on creating the right kind of exposure and building stories that help clients connect with audiences.
Talking to TMN, Flavell says a successful campaign is about more than getting a few posts we can add to a report, it’s about working strategically to help build the project with a longer-term plan.
The Collected PR team, which also includes Meg Collins and Jess Searle, have over 30 years combined experience working across artist, label, touring, festival and brand PR and marketing.
“Having worked at management, labels, PR, marketing and events, we have hands-on experience in each side of the industry and work our PR plans are part of a bigger picture,” said Flavell.
“I also like to think our success speaks for itself. With radio as an example, we’ve consistently had at least two tracks from our artists in the triple j 50 most played for the last few months and at one point had 6 tracks simultaneously on rotation.
“We had two premiere’s in Good Nights last week!”
After being offered an international recording contract at 18, Flavell’s interest in negotiating a path through a “colourful industry” was sparked. Years of playing in bands, touring and hustling for gigs in Australia then lead to a fruitful stint in the UK.
The next step tookFlavell back into the independent world running a boutique record label, before segueing across into a six-year stint in the live music sector as the Head of Marketing and curator of one of Australia’s largest music festivals.
Collected PR’s services include writing press releases, building relationships between artists and media, servicing music, coordinating on ground media schedules and developing long-term and sustainable strategies.
