Jamaican-Australian rapper Jaycee is releasing a new single today with Melbourne DJ duo Teddy Cream, titled ‘Dehydrated’.

The track comes via TMRW Music’s Hussle label, which has partnered with Jaycee’s management company and independent label, Modern Day Entertainment, for the project.

TMRW Music’s head of A&R, Chris Fraser, noted the power of the pairing.

“Pairing Jaycee with Teddy Cream was an obvious win and I couldn’t be happier with how this collaboration has turned out,” he said. “Jaycee turned in a vocal hook that’s guaranteed to set up shop in your head for days.”

Nic GidleyKing from Modern Day Entertainment said the process of working with TMRW Music had been motivating, and the team is definitely onto something.

“From the moment I heard the first demo of ‘Dehydrated’, I knew we were onto something,” he said. “I instantly envisioned the song being played throughout the summer across Australia and all over the world.

“The process behind creating and releasing ‘Dehydrated’ has also been super fun and a new experience for our team at Modern Day Entertainment. Working with Teddy Cream and the team at TMRW Music has been awesome. It’s a motivating feeling when you collaborate on a track with a team that’s equally as passionate, shares the same vision and believes in the music.”

And even more positive words came from co-manager Julian Palei.

“We’re extremely excited to be joining forces with TMRW Music on the release of what we believe is the pre-eminent song of the Australian summer. Jaycee and Teddy Cream have created an undeniable hit with ‘Dehydrated’ and just one listen will have the track stuck in your head for days. Can’t wait to see Australia (and then the world) dancing to this one,” Palei added.

Jaycee dropped his first mixed tape in 2018 and has since released over 50 original songs. He is “fiercely independent”, with everything to date being released via Modern Day Entertainment. In addition to his official music releases, he boasts over 750,000 TikTok followers with over 18 million ‘likes’ on his videos. This aided in his selection to be one of the local faces of the platform’s ‘It Starts On TikTok’ campaign.

Teddy Cream consists of Brandon Mangion and Vincent Calderone, who began producing together at 13. In 2017, their reworks of Sonia Dada’s ‘Lover’ and Daryl Braithwaite’s ‘Horses’ climbed the ARIA Club Charts and amassed over 4 million combined streams.
