Hot 100 Fast Facts: September 8

P!NK keeps Taylor Swift at bay on the latest TMN Hot 100 as Kesha makes a suddensurge into the Top 5.

It’s week #2 of P!NK’s reign on the Hot 100, silencing the talk of an all-outTaylor takeover. Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ remains at #2 for another week but is looking very likely to invade P!NK’s space over the coming weeks.

Justin Bieber’s team-up with Bloodpop on ‘Friends’ is finding it’s feet at commercial, rising to #3 from #5. While Bieber has some serious experience at the top of the Hot 100,this is Bloodpop’s (aka Blood Diamond) firstsingle to make the chart.

Taking ‘Friends’’ position at #5 is Kesha’s comeback single ‘Praying’. It shoots up from #17, a new peak for the track, and her highest position on the chart since ‘We R Who We R’ cracked the Top 5 in February 2011.

Alaskan rock act Portugal. The Man have hit their highest ever peak on the chart as ‘Feel It Still’ continues its ascent at #18 this week. It’s a monumental feat for the band who have traditionally gained airplay on rock and alternative stations in the past.

Australia has now caught up with the rest of the world as Khalid’s ‘Young Dumb & Broke’ climbs 24 spots to #38 after floating around the lower end of the chart for the last two months. The reason behind the revitalisation? A strategic reservice to radio.

Daniel Respall, TMN Charts Editor, says, “Sony’s decision to reservicethe track coincides withits success in other global markets such as the US, where it sits at #32 on the Billobard Hot 100and #10 on Spotify’s US chart.”
