Another Hot 100 debut for Bieber as Aussies dominate the country chart

Radio just can’t get enough of Justin Bieber, with the proven hitmaker scoring another high debut on the Aussie airplay chart.

In a relatively quiet week for new music, Bieber’s new single ‘Yummy’ bows at #12 this week on the TMN Hot 100 powered by Radio Monitor.

The track joins two other Bieber tracks in the Top 30; Dan + Shay collab ‘10,000 Hours’ (#14) and Ed Sheeran team-up ‘I Don’t Care (#21).

The latter is one of seven #1 Australian airplay singles that Bieber has racked up since ‘What Do You Mean?’ first topped the chart in 2015.

Only P!NK, Delta Goodrem, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have more #1s on the TMN Hot 100 than Bieber.

The Top 5 of the Hot 100 remain steadfast this week, with Maroon 5’s ‘Memories’ racking up a fourth non-consecutive week at #1.

Post Malone’s ‘Circle’s moves back into the Top 10 this week at #9, Sam Feldt’s tribute to the aforementioned ‘Post Malone’ featuring RANI hits a new peak of #6.

BENEE’s team-up with Gus Dapperton also debuts this week at #90, as well as jumping straight to the top of the Triple J Airplay Chart.

Over at country radio, if this week’s TMN Country Hot 50 is anything to go by then Aussies are set to have another huge year.

The #1 spot remains with Melanie Dyer’s ‘Memphis T-Shirt’, spending its fourth non-consecutive week at the chart’s summit, just ahead of ‘Diamonds’ by Morgan Evans.

The Top 5 is all homegrown talent, as Brad Cox gets a new peak of #3 for ‘Give Me Tonight’, Lee Kernaghan & Robby X rise back to #4, and ‘So Long So Long’ by Darlinghurst cracks the Top 5 for the first time.

Tracks by Oh Harlow, The Buckleys, Fanny Lumsden and Amber Lawrence all sit within the Top 15 tracks, clear signs that the local country scene enters the new decade in rude health.

The only debut this week comes from singer-songwriter Benn Gunn with ‘Luckiest Man Alive’ (#49).
