‘A New Chapter’: GYROstream Team Unveils Rebranded GYRO.Group

GYROstream, the award-winning independent digital distribution and artist services company, turns over a new leaf with GYRO.Group.
The newly-unveiled entity gathers the Brisbane business’s expanding portfolio of activities under the one banner, including GYROstream, DistroDirect, GROUP SPEED and Soothe Sounds.
“When we launched GYROstream seven years ago, we just wanted to provide independent artists with a local distribution solution,” comments Andy Irvine, CEO and co-founder, in a statement.
“Today,” he continues, “GYRO.Group represents a new chapter – one where we’re helping artists go from debut to superstar on their own terms. We’ve built something powerful, with an exceptional team behind it, and yet, it still feels like we’re only just beginning.”
The announcement follows the group’s appointment of former UNIFIED Music Group COO Matthew Rogers as Chief Commercial Officer.
Rogers is said to provide “firepower” for the company’s global expansion and strategic partnerships through DistroDirect, a platform that now supports over 500 white-label distribution partners in 40 markets including management companies, labels, marketing companies and studios.
Earlier, the company tapped former Virgin Music Group exec Jon Winchester to the GROUP SPEED team in North America, as new Artist and Streaming Marketing Lead.
GROUP SPEED is led by ex-Spotify Canada exec Adrian Burke, and launched in 2023, providing a key moment in the company’s expansion.
Founded in 2018 by four co-founders, GYROstream has grown into a global enterprise with over 60 staff across Australia and international markets.
Its mission: to empower independent artists with best-in-class tools, support, and strategy.
Group co-founder, director and CMO Viv Mellish was on hand at Oztix’s Queensland Day celebrations on June 6 to collect the “international expansion” honour.
