Glassnote Records Partners With How Good For Australia

Gerry Bull and Nick Yates’ How Good will represent Glassnote Records’ artists in Australia.

Formed in 2007 by Daniel Glass, the New York-based independent label has an enviable roster, including Grammy Award winning acts Phoenix, Mumford & Sons, Childish Gambino and Silvana Estrada, and standouts AURORA, CHVRCHES, GROUPLOVE, Tors, bby, Jade Bird, Patrick Martin, Talia Rae, GRACEY, Two Door Cinema Club.

Glassnote also has a strong Australian connection. Over the years, Glassnote has released recordings from the likes of Flight Facilities, The Teskey Brothers and The Temper Trap, and, in 2013, Glass was the keynote speaker at the presentation of the Australian Music Prize in Sydney.

“I’ve always had a love and affinity for Australia and New Zealand,” comments Glass in a statement. “From the moment I started working at Chrysalis Records with Icehouse and The Divinyls to when I first witnessed the greatness of The Temper Trap, Flight Facilities and The Teskey Brothers on my many journeys to Australia, I’ve had a great respect for the culture, talent and storytelling of Australian artists, as well as the country’s commitment to outstanding festivals, radio and conferences.”

Australia, he continues, “is a key part of Glassnote’s global outlook and we’re thrilled to utilise Gerry and Nick’s extensive expertise to achieve those goals in Australia.”

How Good opened for business in 2023, and is guided by Yates, the long-time senior artist manager and head of artist management at UNIFIED Music Group, and Bull, who for over a decade was the Australian media’s point of contact with triple j, as publicist for the ABC’s youth network.

Its range of services include artist development, strategic planning, project management, publicity, partnerships, sponsorship, venue bookings and events through targeted strategies and creative campaigns.

“We’re rapt to join forces with one of the most renowned and forward-thinking record labels in the world,” they say in a joint statement. “The calibre of their artists, from top tier acts like AURORA, Phoenix and GROUPLOVE to exciting new artists like Tors and bby, speaks to the labels ethos and flair for finding and developing extraordinary artists. We’re thrilled to partner with Glassnote to represent those artists in Australia, to build on that success and expand their reach in this territory.”

Since launch, How Good has run campaigns for Sleater-Kinney (Live Nation), Sparks (Secret Sounds), CHAII (BMG), Olympia, Ashwarya, South Summit, Mini Skirt, Pixie, Antiskeptic and Lost Souls, for venues and events (Crowbar, Redfern Surf Club and Behind The Gallery) and with artists AURORA, GROUPLOVE, Tors and bby under the Glassnote Records banner.
