Future Classic signs overseas deal with Caroline International

Sydney-based Future Classic has signed with full service company Caroline International for digital and physical distribution for some overseas territories.

The deal sees Caroline International, part of Universal Music, handle the Australian company in the US, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Benelux, Scandinavia, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Many of Future Classic artists have also attained global recognition. They include Chet Faker, Flume, Jagwar Ma, Flight Facilities, Hayden James, George Maple, Panama, Seekae, Ta-ku, Wave Racer, Basenji, Chrome Sparks and Kenton Slash Demon.

Future Classic, which began at a time when EDM was still an underground style, celebrated its tenth year with a two-day star-studded label showcase on May 29 and 30 at the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid. Flume returned from overseas to headline to play his only Australian show of the year.

Over the next two months, Future Classic is putting on club shows in New York, LA and San Francisco. The acts involved include Classixx, SOPHIE, Cyril Hahn, HNNY, Kenton Slash Demon, Tornado Wallace, Chrome Sparks, Jacques Renault, Touch Sensitive, Basenji and Charles Murdoch.

Nathan McLay, founder of Future Classic, said: “We’re excited to be working with Michael (Roe) and his team at Caroline to further increase the reach of our artists internationally.”

Roe, joint Managing Director of Caroline International with Jim Chancellor, commented: “Future Classic is one of Australia’s premiere labels that has established a tradition of taking fantastic home-grown talent to international audiences. We’re delighted that Nathan and his brilliant team at Future Classic have chosen Caroline as their international partner.”
