Future Classic launches singles-only label Wilder with US agent

Australian company Future Classic’s US operation has gone into partnership with high-profile agent Tom Windish to set up singles-only label Wilder.

The Los Angeles-based imprint will serve as a pipeline for emerging young artists and bands.

Its first signing is 19-year old Indiana-based singer and producer sam.sts, who has dropped anew single ‘Applesauce’.

Sam.sts, born Sam Latty, was discovered through Future Classic’s Studio Residency program, which provides emerging and unsigned artists with two weeks of mentorship with the Future Classic team.

Future Classic is home to the likes of Flume and Nick Murphy/Chet Faker and carries much weight Stateside.

Over September 2019, sam.sts spent two weeks writing with young producers and artists like Lecx Stacy, Naz, Matt Neighbour and Noah Breakfast.

“Sam’s amazing. His music has both depth and a sense of freedom and lightness,” said Future Classic founder and CEO, Nathan McLay. “He’s fresh but also got old school class.”

Windish of Paradigm named Wilder after his new-born son.

A regular visitor and speaker at BIGSOUND Brisbane scouring for new talent, he has a reputation for discovering the likes of Lorde and Billie Eilish.

“Wilder is a means to get music released, promoted and discovered by as many people as possible,” he explains. Quite simply, we’re willing to promote and release music before anybody else is.

“I’ve known Nathan and the Future Classic crew for a long time. They have outstanding curation, creativity and work ethic. I cannot emphasize their long term approach to artist development enough. It was for that reason, I could not think of a better label partner.”
