Talking of his relentless schedule, Adams says he never gets tired of being on the road: “I love what I do, that’s how.”

Releasing his material independently in recent years, He adds, “Every writer whether of songs, books or whatever, always wants to look at the next project and do something different.”

He is currently working on writing the songs for the Pretty Woman musical, based on US$463.3 million-grossing 1990s romantic comedy starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.

The musical stars Samantha Barks, of the film version of Les Miserables, and Tony winner Steve Kazee (Once).

It has a five-week try-out in Chicago from March 2018 and hits Broadway this time next year.

There’s also a book of Adams’ photography in the pipeline. The liner notes of his 2015 album Get Up featured some of his work.
