Five all-ages winter shows from 5SOS

Five all-ages winter shows from 5SOS

5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) are embarking on five all-ages shows in winter, the Sydney-based international band announced this morning.

The Meet You There dates follow the June 22 release of their third album Youngblood, which already yielded the title track on the right end of the various singles charts.

It’s # 1 on iTunes, Shazam and Apple Music, #4 on Spotify, Top 3 on ARIA, and a global top 30 record.

The first single off Youngblood, ‘Want You Back,’ debuted at #1 on iTunes in over 18 countries and exceeded 93 million streams worldwide.

Vocalist/guitarist Luke Hemmings explains: “Growing up is what we had to do on Youngblood.

“Seven years as a band may seem like a long time, but we were teenagers when we started. We had to look at each other and say, ‘Are we going to stop now, or do this forever?

“Because if we continue, then we have to go farther than we ever have before.”

The Meet You There tour, through Live Nation, lands at:

Thursday August 9: Hordern Pavilion, Sydney

Saturday August 11: Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre

Monday August 13: Melbourne Festival Hall

Thursday August 16: Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide

Saturday August 18: HBF Stadium, Perth

The band’s last Australian tour, 5SOS3, sold out in five minutes.

5SOS are the only band (not vocal group) in history to see its first two full-length studio albums enter the Billboard 200 at #1.

Their self-titled debut album has sold more than three million units worldwide, with 1.5 million albums and more than 4.5 million single tracks sold in the U.S. alone.

2015’s Sounds Good Feels Good charted at #1 in 12 countries, including Australia, the US and the UK.

‘She’s Kinda Hot,’ the album’s first single, topped the iTunes charts in 44 countries.
