Eskimo Joe’s Stu MacLeod named GM of Fairbridge Festival

Eskimo Joe’s Stu MacLeod has become general manager of the company which operates WA’s Fairbridge Festival.

It runs April 26—28 at Fairbridge Village in the Pinjarra area.

Its parent company Folkwork Inc advertised for a GM to “develop and implement (its) strategic vision, deliver the annual business plan and lead the organisation to future successful festivals and events.”

MacLeod has been general manager of influential Perth community radio station RTRFM since December 2015, and played a significant role in its 40th anniversary celebrations last year, which included 40 WA acts playing across four the Perth Concert Hall.

When he first joined, he told TMN it was a role that would allow him to help foster the scene which gave him a break in the first place.

He cited his departure from the station as “a difficult decision” but he wanted to spend more time with his family.

In August, Eskimo Joe released a deluxe anniversary version of their fourth album Inshalla!.

In February/March 2019 they are doing shows around the country with a symphony orchestra.

Four of the five shows have sold out.

Band member Kav Temperley is currently doing shows behind his solo album All Your Devotion.
