Two of Australia’s biggest names in punk rock have partnered with eMusic Live for a string of livestreamed concerts in the coming weeks.
Gold Coast breakouts The Chats and Melbourne pub-rockers Cosmic Psychos will each team up with eMusic Live in two separate events as the global live-streaming platform continues to assert its presence in Australia.
The Chats will partner with the platform to livestream their show at The Roundhouse in Sydney on Sunday June 27 at 7pm, following on from the band’s recent national tour in support of last year’s High Risk Behaviour.
Meanwhile, Cosmic Psychos will be streaming a raucous live set from Melbourne’s Forum theatre on Thursday July 1 at 8pm ahead of the July 8 release of their new album, Mountain of Piss.
Cosmic Psychos bassist and vocalist Ross Knight said that eMusic Live’s platform would provide the band with the opportunity to debut their new album for interstate and international audiences.
“After not being able to tour for over a year, we wanted to be able to give our mates overseas and the other parts of Australia the chance to see the gig. We’re stoked that eMusic Live is hookin’ it all up for us,” Knight said.
eMusic Live officially launched in Australia last weekend with a livestreamed performance of Crowded House in support of the band’s new album Dreamers Are Waiting.
The platform was established last year as a joint partnership between 7digital and eMusic, and is headed in Australia by industry veterans Danny Keenan, Hilton Rosenthal and Hylton Chilchik.
