Dune Rats Launch NFT With Smith’s Chips
Dune Rats have launched a new track with snack brand Smith’s Chips.
The commercial collaboration has seen the brand work with fellow “chip fanatics” who contributed by crunching “loudly and proudly” on the track.
500 copies of the track have now been minted as NFTs. Fans of the band can collect one of the copies free via Fanaply on a first-come, first-served basis.
The NFT has been designed to celebrate the new Smith’s Double Crunch range which launched earlier this year with flavours Ultimate BBQ Ribs, Hot & Spicy Chicken Wings, Cheesy Garlic Bread and Original.
Danny Beus, singer for the band, said: “It was a hoot to get together with a bunch of legends to record this crunchy number about super catchy chips.”
Sam O’Donnell, Smith’s senior brand manager, added: “We are stoked to be creating a piece of history with the Smith’s chip NFT, a world first, in partnership with Dune Rats to celebrate the launch of our new Smith’s Double Crunch chips.
“This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that crunch cravers won’t want to miss.”
At time of writing, there are still 498 NFTs available. They can be claimed here.
Earlier thus year, Dune Rats partnered with iconic shoe brand Volley to create a new shoe range. The shoes aim to help promote the band’s third album “Real Rare Whale”, which is out in June.
The band also covered ‘Deck The Halls’ for KFC’s Christmas in July campaign last year.
Back in February 2020, they became the first Australian band to score a #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart this decade.
