Spotify has added Florida rapper and multi-instrumentalist Dominic Fike to the lineup of its second Front Left Live.

This year the sold-out event moves to the Forum in Melbourne on Wednesday, October 9, in its quest to expose the best genre-busting music.

Others on the bill are Tones And I and Electric Fields from Australia, and Tove Lo (Sweden), Girl In Red (Norway) and Benee (New Zealand).

The live showcase-format event is based on Spotify’s Front Left playlist, which boasts over 500,000 followers.

Hailing from Florida, Fike has accumulated over 223 million streams for his addictive hit ‘3 Night’ and has over 9 million monthly listeners.

Recent tracks ‘Açaí Bowl’, ‘Roller Blades’ and ‘Phone Numbers’ showcase his hybrid of pop-rooted sound and rap influence.

Head of music culture and editorial at Spotify Australia & NZ, Alicia Sbrugnera, says “We were thrilled with the response to Front Left Live last year.

“The goal was to build a stronger Spotify playlist brand, then take it to the stage through a live event; our first major live public event in this region and the first time bringing a playlist brand to life.
