Cooking Vinyl builds on PledgeMusic to ready first album signings

First signings to Cooking Vinyl Australia, Kate Miller-Heidke and Calling All Cars, have implemented PledgeMusic as a springboard to create and launch their albums, landing next week.

PledgeMusic has formed an integral part of the campaigns for both the Miller-Heidke’s album O Vertigo and Calling All Cars’ Raise The People.

Miller-Heidke has solely funded the release of her album via Pledge with Cooking Vinyl providing label services – namely PR, distribution and marketing, while Calling All Cars have used the crowdfunding platform to raise funds for re-location to the UK. The band is signed to Cooking Vinyl for the world and will plug directly into the company’s operation headquarters in the UK.

Cooking Vinyl’s Leigh Gruppetta told TMN, “Cooking Vinyl and Pledge Music have shared great success in the UK and Europe on projects such as Amanda Palmer and we’re delighted to be rolling out that success here with our first local signings.

He adds, “Cooking Vinyl Australia can provide a broad range of deal structures to suit artists from direct signings to label services with the unique flexibility of releasing these albums in the UK and Europe via HQ in London.”

PledgeMusic meanwhile has unveiled a series of changes and updates on its site around a new focus entitled Music As It Happens. The new platform has been optimized to offer fans a front row seat in the process of making and releasing music, offering exclusive items such as signed memorabilia and higher tiered, once-in-lifetime experiences such as private concerts and VIP tickets to album release parties.

Benji Rogers, President and Founder of PledgeMusic says, “We are so proud of both the PledgeMusic team and the PledgeMusic community of artists, fans and charities. This marks an important turning point for our platform and for our company.”
